José Luis Godoy is a painter based in Mallorca whose work travels through the island's landscapes and hidden corners. His patient gaze on the territory was gathered in the exhibition “Caminando por Mallorca”, opened by the Barceló Foundation at the Centre d'Art i Cultura in Felanitx for the Nit de l'Art of 2018.
His painting celebrates the timeless Mallorca: the one discovered on foot, far from the predictable routes. The gallery also holds a singular piece of his painted on a roof tile, testimony to that Mallorcan tradition of bringing painting to the most everyday surfaces.
